Mohegan Sun Arena
Uncasville, CT Principals of Bernhard Shipps and Associates, Inc were responsible for the acoustical design of this 10,000 seat arena, a part of the Phase II Mohegan Sun (Sunburst) expansion. The size, required simplicity (core and shell), build-schedule and project budget required acoustical recommendations that were very practical and effective. The design incorporated acoustical metal decking and additional Tectum wall treatments in order to control reverberation and flutter echo in this large space with no finished ceiling. The flexibility of the design allows for both sporting events and live performances with uncompromised acoustics.
