MORGANTOWN GENERATING FACILITY

Bernhard Shipps and Associates, Inc assisted the owner, MIRANT, with assessment of noise from a new proposed coal barge unloader and the associated conveying systems. This plant is located in Charles County, Maryland on the Potomac River
with a capacity of 1,492 megawatts (equivalent number of homes served: 1,492,000). The project included a detailed baseline survey of surrounding areas, a comprehensive analysis of the proposed coal barge unloader, and will include followup testing sometime in 2008 upon completion.
